Cryo-Storage Manager

The Cryo-Storage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations within the Cryogenic Storage Laboratory of the IVF Lab, ensuring the secure handling, organization, and integrity of all cryopreserved specimens. This role is central to maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiency across cryo operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the receipt, cataloging, and ongoing management of all cryopreserved reproductive materials, including oocytes and embryos.
• Maintain precise and up-to-date inventory records within the storage management system.
• Coordinate specimen distribution, internal transfers, and external shipments in accordance with regulatory and institutional guidelines.
• Manage specimen disposals and documentation in compliance with consent and policy requirements.
• Monitor and maintain the functionality of multiple bulk cryogenic storage tanks and associated monitoring systems.
• Participate in the emergency response program to ensure specimen protection and staff safety.
• Collaborate with the frozen specimen disposition team and clinical partners to support patient-centered operations.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Optimize workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within the cryo program.
• Evaluate and implement new systems, technologies, and processes to enhance operational performance.
• Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring consistent adherence to best practices.
• Partner with leadership to identify and execute special projects supporting program development and organizational growth.
• Update and maintain genetic reports and documentation associated with cryopreserved embryos to ensure date accuracy and traceability.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree at minimum, Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a clinical or research cryogenic storage or embryology setting strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to precision and compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
