Minimum
Qualification:
High school diploma/GED, Georgia P.O.S.T. certification,
and two (2) years of experience at a level equivalent to a
supervisory law enforcement position; or one (1) year of
experience required at the lower level CSM Correctional
Lieutenant (PSP195) or position equivalent.
Preferred
Qualification:
One year of full-time experience with the Georgia Department of Corrections in managing, through one or more subordinate first-line supervisors, a correctional security force such as those assigned to a small correctional facility (e.g. Detention Center, Boot Camp,Transitional Center); or to a shift operation, management unit, building, or similar component at a state prison. Or completion of at least an Associates degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a directly related field. Or for some positions responsible for the very largest state prison correctional security forces, preference will be given to applicants who have at least one year of experience with the Georgia Department of Corrections in coordinating and administering the security operations and staff of a state prison or of a major section or component (e.g. Shift, management unit, building complex, etc.) within a large, complex state prison.
