Job Description Position Summary
Required Teaching Certificates in Art and CTE.
The CTE Art, Digital Media Teacher provides industry‑aligned instruction in digital media, visual arts, animation, film production, graphic design, and related creative technologies. This role blends artistic expertise with real‑world technical skills to prepare students for careers and postsecondary pathways. The teacher develops hands‑on, project‑based learning experiences that reflect current industry standards and foster creativity, collaboration, and technical proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver standards‑aligned instruction in areas such as digital media, graphic design, animation, photography, video production, audio production, and emerging media.
- Develop and implement project‑based learning that mirrors real industry workflows, including concept development, production, revision, and presentation.
- Teach industry‑standard software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects), digital cameras, audio equipment, and studio lighting.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and creative studio environment, including equipment management, inventory, and lab procedures.
- Integrate career readiness skills, including communication, collaboration, problem‑solving, and portfolio development.
- Guide students in creating professional portfolios, reels, or exhibitions that demonstrate technical and artistic growth.
- Collaborate with industry partners to provide guest speakers, mentorships, workplace learning, and up‑to‑date industry insights.
- Assess student learning using rubrics, critiques, performance tasks, and industry‑aligned benchmarks.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and CTE program requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CTE teaching credential or eligibility to obtain one.
- Valid Teaching Certificate in Art/Digital Design.
- Professional experience in art, media, design.
- Proficiency with industry‑standard digital tools and creative technologies.
- Ability to design hands‑on, project‑based, and technology‑rich instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Art, Media, Design, Film, Digital Media, or related field.
- Experience working with diverse learners in a classroom or training environment.
- Certifications in Adobe or other creative software (CTE).
- Background in curriculum development or CTE pathway design.
