CTICU Staff Nurse

• Patient Care:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in CTICU, including pre- and post-operative cardiothoracic and cardiac surgery patients.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, hemodynamic parameters, ventilator settings, and cardiac rhythms.
• Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other therapeutic interventions safely.
• Assist in procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, chest tube management, etc.
• Manage emergency situations including cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, and hemodynamic instability.
• Equipment Handling:
• Operate and maintain ICU equipment such as ventilators, defibrillators, syringe pumps, infusion pumps, IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), and cardiac monitors.
• Ensure proper functioning, calibration, and reporting of faulty equipment.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing notes, charts, and patient records.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, colleagues, and patient families about patient status and care plans.
• Infection Control & Safety:
• Follow strict infection control protocols, hand hygiene, and sterile techniques.
• Adhere to hospital policies and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Teamwork & Education:
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthetists, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals for coordinated patient care.
• Participate in staff training, continuing education, and quality improvement activities.
