- Prepare the operating theatre and ensure all necessary surgical instruments, consumables, and equipment are sterilized and ready.
- Scrub, gown, and glove according to aseptic technique before surgeries.
- Assist surgeons by anticipating needs, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field throughout the procedure.
- Handle surgical specimens and ensure proper documentation and lab dispatch.
- Monitor and manage surgical instruments before, during, and after procedures to ensure no items are missing.
- Adhere to strict infection prevention and control protocols.
- Assist in preparing the patient pre-operatively and ensuring safe transfer post-operatively.
- Coordinate with the CTVS surgical team, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals for smooth workflow.
- Participate in surgical equipment maintenance and reporting of malfunctioning devices.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures, supplies used, and any incidents.
