Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian curries (veg and non-veg) to high standards
- Operate and manage the tandoor section, including breads and grilled items
- Prepare marinades, sauces, and spice blends according to recipes and standards
- Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation across all dishes
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and kitchen hygiene at all times
- Coordinate with head chef and kitchen team for smooth operations
- Maintain proper storage and labeling of ingredients
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines strictly
- Assist in menu development and introducing modern Indian elements when required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Curry Chef, Tandoor Chef, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Indian spices, gravies, and cooking techniques
- Hands-on experience operating a traditional clay tandoor oven
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Team player with good communication skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Skills
- Experience in modern or fusion Indian cuisine
- Knowledge of regional Indian dishes (North Indian, Mughlai, etc.)
- Ability to manage inventory and reduce food waste
- Creative approach to plating and presentation
