Curry & Tandoor Chef

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Indian curries (veg and non-veg) to high standards
  • Operate and manage the tandoor section, including breads and grilled items
  • Prepare marinades, sauces, and spice blends according to recipes and standards
  • Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation across all dishes
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and kitchen hygiene at all times
  • Coordinate with head chef and kitchen team for smooth operations
  • Maintain proper storage and labeling of ingredients
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines strictly
  • Assist in menu development and introducing modern Indian elements when required

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Curry Chef, Tandoor Chef, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Indian spices, gravies, and cooking techniques
  • Hands-on experience operating a traditional clay tandoor oven
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in modern or fusion Indian cuisine
  • Knowledge of regional Indian dishes (North Indian, Mughlai, etc.)
  • Ability to manage inventory and reduce food waste
  • Creative approach to plating and presentation
