Are you passionate about maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment? Do you have experience in facility maintenance and enjoy hands-on work? Vogel is looking for a dedicated Custodial Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring that our facilities remain in top condition, supporting our mission by providing a safe and clean space for all staff and visitors. You’ll help maintain and repair our buildings, perform regular cleaning tasks, and assist in ensuring our grounds are well-kept. This is a full-time, non exempt, on-site position with compensation at $20.00 - $23.00 per hour. Please note that this position may require assistance at our other locations as needed - Vogel Main, Vogel North and Vogel Redbird.

Our mission focuses on serving young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, offering a nurturing environment for growth and development. We support both children and their parents through a two-generation approach, providing resources and education that help families move toward a brighter future.

What You’ll Do

Staff Supervision: You will be responsible for supervising custodial staff to ensure the cleanliness of all facilities, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and administrative offices. You will assign duties to your team and inspect their work.
Cleaning & Maintenance: Your role is to ensure all areas of the campus are consistently clean and orderly. You will plan cleanup and work schedules for the custodial crew.
Safety & Compliance: You will instruct the crew on the proper use of cleaning products and equipment to comply with safety standards. This includes checking daily to ensure exit doors and panic bars are working correctly. You'll also be responsible for opening and closing the building each day
Inventory & Supplies: You'll maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and order them on a timely schedule to prevent shortages.
Reporting & Communication: You will report major repairs or damage to the building to the Facilities Manager and communicate with the appropriate administrators and supervisors to address any problems.
Training & Development: You will provide proper training to your staff and instruct them on the daily work schedule.

What will make you successful in this role (skills)

Experience: You should have experience in custodial maintenance.
Supervisory Skills: The ability to assign and inspect work and write reports is essential. You must also be able to work with and effectively communicate with staff, students, and families.
Technical Proficiency: You should be proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as common maintenance and custodial software applications.
Physical Stamina: You must have good physical dexterity and the ability to perform manual tasks, including heavy lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Driver’s License: You must possess a valid Class C driver’s license.
Flexibility: You should be willing to work occasional overtime and be available for flexible hours and schedule changes.
