Job Description:
The Custodian will be responsible for daily and periodic cleaning of offices, restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, training rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and other public areas within the facility in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Dust furniture, equipment, partitions, walls, etc.
  • Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, floors, toilets, mirrors, tables, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.
  • Replenish supplies in restrooms, breakrooms, kitchens, cafes, etc. (paper towels, trash bags, toilet paper, soap, hand sanitizer, etc.)
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip & wax, shampoo carpets, and/or hand scrub floors
  • Empty trash cans and recyclables into disposal areas/dumpsters
  • Wipe down walls, woodwork, doors, wall hangings, baseboards, glass partitions, etc.
  • Identify potential safety or maintenance issues and report them to your supervisor.
  • Respond to service requests from the client as directed by your supervisor or designee
  • Comply with all safety polices and procedures relating to performance of tasks, use of products or supplies and incident reporting.
  • Secure the work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work.
  • Maintain exterior grounds, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and raking.
  • Remove litter and debris from sidewalks, parking lots, and other outdoor areas.
  • May be required to assist with light snow removal and deicing activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Team player – ability to work within a team where members depend on each other to get work done
  • Friendly and professional – able to communicate and interact with customers while work is being performed
  • Ability to work independently and identify and resolve small issues with minimal direction
  • Knowledge and ability to use standard cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms, carts, floor scrubbers, and carpet extractors.
  • Commercial and/or federal office cleaning experience preferred
  • Ability to pass federal background checks
  • Must be a permanent resident authorized to work in the US
Work Environment:
  • Employee may be subject to hazards including but not limited to repetitive movement, chemicals, noisy environments, outdoor work and varying weather conditions, hot and cold environments, blood, human waste, etc.
Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
  • Ability to push, pull and lift heavy items up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk and stand on uneven indoor and outdoor surfaces for long periods of time.
  • May be required to use step stools and ladders in the performance of duties.
