Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. As a School Custodian at Holy Redeemer School, you'll: Perform janitorial and cleaning activities within established guidelines, assigned areas and shift(s); Be responsible for satisfactory and timely completion of assigned cleaning area according to schedule; Perform a variety of tasks, such as dust mopping and damp mopping floors in all areas including entry ways, corridors, classrooms, cafeterias, multipurpose rooms, dust furniture, pictures, ventilation, lights, and blinds; Empty wastebaskets, and clean windows & restrooms; Perform other cleaning and maintenance duties etc; Setting up for events/take down clean up after events. Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in designated areas.
• Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, and waxing to maintain the appearance of floors.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts to promote sustainability within the facility.
• Assist with basic maintenance tasks to ensure facilities are in good working order.
• Provide janitorial services in both commercial and residential settings as needed.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests and maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the premises.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure all cleaning schedules are met efficiently.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment is highly desirable.
• Experience in commercial cleaning or industrial cleaning environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices will be beneficial.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
