Custodian

Position Overview

This position performs a wide variety of semi-skilled tasks related to the custodial care of the plant floor and office. Performs routine custodial duties and other semi-skilled duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs plant specific, “detailer” janitorial duties (e.g., vacuuming, dusting, washing, wiping, squeegeeing, polishing and drying) on: equipment, machine guards, hand-rails, robot enclosures, table guards and decorative shields, glass and Plexiglas walls and machine enclosures, plus corner and column connections, wall framing & bracing, electrical cabinets, power distribution cabinets, glass doors, fire alarm controls cabinets, surfaces of piping, conduits, and remote areas that collect dust and debris.
• Performs all janitorial duties, including mopping/sweeping of floors, dumping trash containers, cleaning company lunchroom, locker areas, plant wide restroom areas, dusting of high bays
• Pass respirator physical and respirator certification (clean shaven)
• Maintains a daily record of work performed
• Assist in maintenance during maintenance shutdowns
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Assist with month-end inventory

Requirements

• The ability to adhere to the company’s policies, rules and regulations, according to the employee’s handbook.
• General knowledge of appropriate building maintenance and janitorial duties.
• General knowledge of common hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform the physical labor required for the task. Must be able to lift 50lbs. regularly.
• Clean Shaven (required for respirator certification)
• Ability to recognize safety hazards.
