Shift Requirement:

This full-time shift will be from 12:30pm - 9pm, Monday - Friday.

Job Description Summary

To perform a variety of custodial duties including but not limited to cleaning, vacuuming, trash deposal, waxing, buffing, set up / tear down for scheduled site events, and assisting with preventative maintenance such as painting and repairs assigned and scheduled. Grounds maintenance, mowing, trimming and snow and ice removal.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning and Sanitation: Cleaning floors, windows, walls, and restrooms; disinfecting high-touch surfaces. Perform daily tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Waste Removal: Empty trash and recycling bins, dispose of waste properly, and replace liners.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Perform light maintenance such as changing light bulbs, fixing minor leaks, or repairing furniture, maintaining cleaning equipment, and reporting major repair needs to Facilities Manager or Principle.
• Supply Management: Replenishing restroom supplies, soaps, and cleaning materials. Monitor cleaning supply levels and request replenishments from supervisors.
• Security: Locking/unlocking doors and gates, securing doors, windows, and outside entrances. Monitoring buildings for safety hazards reporting to Facilities Manager or Principle when issues arise.
• Event Setup: Arrange and dismantle tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings or special events. Pulling out bleachers, setting up risers for sporting, musical and theater events.
• Grounds Maintenance: Cleaning sidewalks and paved areas of snow and ice. handling landscaping tasks like mowing, trimming and sweeping entrances.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (usually up to 50 lbs), and move furniture and supplies with push carts or hand trucks.
• Knowledge of Cleaning Chemicals: Understanding safety protocols (SDS/PPE) for handling cleaning agents.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with industrial equipment like floor buffers, floor auto-scrubber machines, commercial vacuums, carpet cleaners, and hand tools (e.g. drills, saws, wrenches). Proficiency with gas powered riding and push mowers, hand trimmers, tillers, and landscaping hand tools (e.g. loppers, rakes, shovels). Proficiency with gas powered snowblowers and salt dispensing equipment and sprayers.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness.
• Reliability: Working independently or as part of a team, often with minimal supervision.

Pay: $14.14 - $18.81 per hour
