Custodian - (Evenings)

Newman University is seeking a dedicated Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, faculty, and staff. This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting our mission and Catholic identity while ensuring our campus facilities remain in excellent condition.

Work Performed:

• Perform general custodial duties in classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Empty trash, clean and sanitize restrooms, and restock supplies.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors; buff and wax as needed.
• Clean surfaces, windows, mirrors, and fixtures.
• Assist with event setup and furniture moves.
• Follow all safety procedures and complete required trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals; ability to follow safety guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull up to 100 lbs., and perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, and stair climbing.
• Reliable transportation, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
