Job Summary

This position is advertised from the minimum to the mid-point hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer.

NATURE OF WORK

Under close supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in cleaning, custodial, and delivery duties; this position has department specific responsibility.

Nature of Work

(Illustrative Only) Responsible for sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors in hallways, stairways and offices; wipes, dusts and polishes furniture and metalwork; cleans and polishes woodwork, walls, windows and window blinds; empties ashtrays, recycle bins and waste paper baskets; straightens and arranges desks, chairs, bookcases and other office furniture; cleans and disinfects/sanitizes and services/stocking lavatories and rest rooms; cleans water fountains and wash basins; opens and closes doors and windows; operates and maintains floor care equipment; cleans/washes down outside areas and walkways immediately surrounding the building; as required; responds to emergency and urgent clean-up situations, such as spills, leaks, floods, etc.; assists with lifting and moving heavy objects such as desk, office file cabinets, tables, etc. Identifies and reports maintenance issues to Supervisor and/or on-call Maintenance staff; mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specification; cleans up spills and unsafe conditions in a timely manner and according to procedures; disposes of hazardous waste and contaminated materials using approved disposal methods; loads and unloads supplies and equipment; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND one (1) year of related work experience. OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license. Requires successful completion of a background check.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: County policies and procedures; the materials, methods, and practices used in cleaning and sanitizing buildings and grounds, and related custodial operations; occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Skill in: Maintaining safety standards; following written and verbal instructions.

Ability to: Lift 40 pounds; work in varying extreme weather conditions; bend, kneel, squat, pull, and push on a repeated basis; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers; follow written and verbal instructions; stand and bend; walk and stoop; perform the essential functions of the job specifications with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 30% bending, 20% walking, 20% stooping and 30% standing. The job is performed under varying weather conditions and may be exposed to chemical fumes and hazardous materials.

Medical Coverage Category
The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from three (3) medical plan options with six (6) tiers that will best suit the employee's needs, dependents or families.

Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 1100 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.

Plan Option 2: Preferred Provider Option B (PPO) or PPO B 1,500 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.

Plan Option 3: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) with a 1700 deductible. Employees who participate in the “ Wellness Incentive” will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.

Employer contributes a total of $800.04 to employees Health Savings Account. If employees select Employee only and participate in the “ Wellness Incentive” employees can receive up to 360.00 contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card to be used for medical or dental purposes.

Southwest Service Administrator (SSA) Mexico PPO Health Plan: SSA is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan A and PPO Plan B. The SSA Plan pays 100% of hospital, medical, laboratory and prescription drug benefits, to a maximum of $5,000 per person per calendar year ($10,000 for two or more family members).
