The
Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Oregon State Hospital (OSH)
Environmental Services Department is recruiting for Limited Duration(17 months) Custodians. As part of the team, these positions provide a clean, healthy and therapeutic environment for the patients and staff by meeting agency cleanliness standards. As a Custodian, you will perform some of the following duties:
Clean and disinfect all substances, spills and/or accidents.
Pick-up and deliver bio-hazard waste and sharps to designated secure storage area.
Disinfect patient wards when infectious disease outbreaks occur.
Sweep, dust, mop, and/or buff hard surfaces.
Vacuum and spot clean carpets and remove trash.
Scrub, rinse and refinish floors; clean, shampoo and extract carpets and upholstered furniture.
Clean and maintain custodial equipment.
Prep floors and walls for remodel and/or renovation projects.
These positions are full-time, permanent, classified positions which are represented by a union.
Oregon State Hospital (OSH) Custodian positions receive a 10% pay differential above their base rate of pay.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications: These qualifications must be visible in your application for consideration.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Minimum 6 months of custodial experience that included operating equipment needed to perform custodial duties.
Ability to push/pull heavy custodial equipment (and lift up to 50 pounds), crouch, stoop, bend, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time (90% of work shift).

Experience utilizing effective custodial organization skills.
Experience effectively use technology and training to enhance performance and productivity.
Experience recognizing the values of individual and cultural differences and creating a work environment where individual differences are valued.
Experience in operating commercial custodial equipment such as; carpet extractor, scrubbers, buffers, no touch cleaning systems, and various types of commercial vacuums.
Experience in proper use and dilution ratios of cleaning chemical solutions.
Experience in time management skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage daily duties, and complete assigned tasks by order of importance.
Special Requirements: To be hired, you must have a criminal records check that meets OHA criteria at the time of hire, and throughout employment.
