CUSTODIAN (PORTER)- FULL TIME

Avon Health Center, family owned since 1974, provides a range of services, including skilled nursing care, post-acute medical and rehabilitation care, hospice and respite care. We are a 120 bed facility with a 30 bed post-acute/rehab unit. Our Facility has an excellent reputation in the community and we are looking for caring persons to provide leadership and drive the quality care we are known for to our residents.:

FULL TIME PORTER (custodian) 40 hours per week includes every other weekend and every other holiday.

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK EVERY OTHER WEEKEND AND EVERY OTHER HOLIDAY.

$18.50/hour

Job Details:
40 hours per week including every other weekend and every other holiday

Hours are 6 am to 2 pm

Various responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Trash removal, sweeping, mopping and waxing/buffing of floors, vacuuming, cleaning of rooms upon resident discharge, in-house delivery of boxes, packages and other items, cleaning and upkeep of restrooms, resident rooms, community rooms and offices.

The primary purpose of your position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and / or the Director of Housekeeping, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.

Additional necessary qualifications:

• Works independently and as a team player
• Experience with buffing and cleaning facility floors is a plus!
• Must be reliable! We are a health facility that is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Must have reliable attendance and must report to work in inclement weather.
• Communicates well
• Deals tactfully with resident, family members, staff and government personnel
• May be required to stand for long periods of time
• May have to lift, push, pull and move heavy equipment and supplies without restrictions
• Minimum 1 year experience desired but will train the right candidate
