Custodian- PT Weekends

Employee acts as custodian in a school building. Does related work as required; is responsible for the care and cleaning of school building and grounds.


Minimum Qualification, Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
Knowledge of materials, methods and equipment used in custodial work. Ability to follow oral instructions. Ability to read and comprehend instructions. Ability to handle 150 lbs. Ability to deal effectively with those in contact while working.


Duties and Responsibilities:
Sweeps, mops, scrubs and waxes floors. Dusts, polishes metal and wood. Collects and disposes of rubbish. Cleans toilets, washroom fixtures. Moves and sets up furniture. Prepares hall or auditorium for meetings. Stores and delivers supplies. Operates hand or power equipment such as mowers and floor scrubbers. Rakes leaves. Shovels snow. Cleans trash on grounds. Locks and unlocks premises. Performs minor preventative repairs. May assist in cafeteria during lunch hour. Performs any and all duties as assigned by the school principal which are necessary to accomplish the functions for the school or district.


Reports to: Building principal.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 12 months
Rate: Per Union contract
