Custodian/Event Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across our facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various cleaning and custodial tasks, ensuring a hygienic and well-maintained environment for staff, clients, and visitors. This role is essential for supporting the overall operations and appearance of our premises, contributing to a positive and professional atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment
• Provide event support including classroom and meeting set-ups and rental set-ups, food/buffet set-ups, coffee/tea set-ups
• Conduct specialized floor care including buffing, stripping, and waxing to maintain a polished appearance
• Handle janitorial duties such as trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and surface disinfecting
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs and reporting larger issues to management
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and usage
• Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health regulations
• Support industrial or commercial cleaning projects as needed, including high dusting or deep-cleaning tasks
• Provide residential painting or light maintenance services when required to support facility upkeep

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred, especially in commercial or industrial settings
• Knowledge of floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, and waxing is highly desirable
• Experience with residential painting or facilities maintenance is a plus
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and safe chemical handling practices
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe environment

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
