Custodian/Food Handler

We are seeking a Custodian to join our team at BumbleBees R US. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our children, staff, and families. Your contributions will play a vital role in supporting our mission of fostering a positive learning atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and dusting to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Ensure all restrooms are stocked and sanitized regularly.
• Conduct routine inspections of the premises to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Assist with setting up spaces for events or activities as required.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts to promote environmental sustainability.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order.

Requirements

• Proven experience in custodial or facilities maintenance roles is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with staff and families.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safe handling procedures.
• NY Food Handlers Certification
