Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and detail-oriented Custom Closets, Cabinets & Interior Designer / Sales professional to join our team. In this role, you will help clients transform their spaces through personalized closet, cabinetry, and storage solutions that are both functional and visually appealing.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interior design mindset, strong people skills, and a passion for sales and space planning. We are looking for an energetic, motivated, and career-driven person who is eager to learn, grow, and build a career in the custom closets and cabinetry industry. You do not need to know everything from day one. We are happy to train the right candidate who has the right attitude, a basic foundation, and a willingness to learn.

Candidates with prior experience in custom closets, cabinetry, interior design, home organization, or related sales/design fields are encouraged to apply. Experience with companies such as California Closets, Artisan Closets, Inspired Closets, Closets by Design, The Home Depot, Lowe’s Custom Closet departments, or other local closet or cabinetry companies is a plus, but not required.

Basic familiarity with closets, pantries, garage cabinets, mudrooms, custom cabinets, and design tools such as Closet Pro, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar software is preferred. An understanding of basic construction methods, materials, and hardware is helpful, but we will provide training for the right person.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, budget, and lifestyle
• Design custom closets, cabinets, and storage solutions that are functional, stylish, and tailored to each client
• Use design software to create layouts and presentations for clients
• Present design ideas clearly and confidently, with an eye for both function and aesthetics
• Guide clients through materials, finishes, hardware, accessories, and upgrade options
• Manage the sales process from consultation to quote, follow-up, and closing
• Contribute to sales growth and overall team performance
• Work closely with production and installation teams to help ensure designs are accurate and buildable
• Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the process
• Continue learning about products, design trends, materials, and construction methods

Qualifications / Skills

• Interest in interior design, space planning, custom closets, cabinetry, or home organization
• Energetic, positive, and professional attitude
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Sales ability or confidence in speaking with clients and helping close deals
• Comfortable working in a role with base salary plus performance-based bonus incentives
• Basic understanding of closet or cabinet design preferred, but not required
• Familiarity with Closet Pro or other design software is a plus
• Knowledge of materials, finishes, hardware, and accessories is helpful
• Ability to learn quickly, stay organized, and manage multiple projects
• Motivated, coachable, and eager to grow within the company

Preferred Background

• Experience in interior design, closet design, cabinetry design, kitchen and bath design, furniture sales, or home improvement sales
• Previous work with California Closets, Artisan Closets, Inspired Closets, Closets by Design, Home Depot, Lowe’s, or similar businesses is a plus
• Exposure to designing closets, pantries, mudrooms, garage cabinets, and custom cabinetry is preferred

Compensation

• Base salary plus performance-based bonus
• Opportunity to increase earnings through strong sales performance, client service, and project success

Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
