Custom OpenClaw Platform Developer

Our agents have been running since January. We need a developer who can keep up.

We run a custom OpenClaw deployment — autonomous AI agents handling real business operations, from bookkeeping and treasury to payroll, mail monitoring, and executive functions. Not demos. Production, every day.

The infrastructure is built. The patterns are established. We need a developer to extend it, write new agents, build new skills, and ship products on top of the stack.

What you'd be doing:

  • Writing and shipping production code in a tight loop: spec → AI implement → review → deploy, same day
  • Building and extending agents — the kind that run on a schedule, handle edge cases, and don't need babysitting
  • Owning features end-to-end, from requirements through deployment
  • Working directly with the founder in person

What we need:

  • Real experience with autonomous agents or agentic frameworks
  • AI coding tools as your daily workflow — Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf — not occasionally
  • Full-stack enough to build the tooling and integrations agents need around them
  • SDD-fluent: you write specs tight enough for AI to implement, and you know how to review the output

On remote: The loop is too tight. You need to be in the room.

Pay: $55.00 - $80.00 per hour

Application Question(s):

  • Have you worked with OpenClaw? If so, describe your setup: how many agents do you have configured, what platforms and channels are they connected to, and what are they actively running? If you haven't used OpenClaw specifically, describe the closest agentic framework you've worked with at a similar depth.
  • Have you worked in a spec-driven development workflow — where you write a detailed spec and hand it to an AI to implement? Walk through your process: how detailed is your spec, what goes in it, and how do you catch mistakes in the output.
  • Provide your GitHub username and share any open-source projects you've contributed to, maintained, or shipped. If you don't have public repos, tell us what you've built and where it lives.
  • Beyond simply running agents, what advanced OpenClaw features or customizations have you implemented? For example: custom memory providers (e.g., Hindsight), multi-agent environments, custom skill development, browser profile isolation, or platform integrations. Describe what you built and what problem it solved.
  • 1099 contract, $55-$80/hr, fully in-person in Rockville, MD. Confirm you're good with both. W-2 and remote seekers: this isn't your role.

Work Location: In person
