Nu-wool Co., LLC is a local, rapidly growing manufacturer producing innovative products made from recycled fibers for multiple industries. We're looking for an experienced Customer Equipment Service and Repair Technician to support our Jenison facility and keep our equipment running safely and efficiently.
Job Summary
The Customer Equipment Service and Repair Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing customer equipment. This role involves troubleshooting customer calls, performing mechanical and minor electrical repairs, and ensuring equipment is safe, functional, and operating efficiently. Strong customer service skills are essential, as this role regularly interacts with customers to resolve equipment issues and provide clear, professional support.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot calls and diagnose equipment issues while providing friendly, professional customer service.
- Repair and install 1600, 1700, and 1200 series machines.
- Visually inspect and test machinery to identify mechanical and electrical problems.
- Listen for abnormal sounds to help diagnose malfunctioning equipment.
- Dismantle defective machines and install new or repaired parts.
- Clean and lubricate bearings, gears, shafts, and other moving components.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Operate a welder, plasma cutter, and cutting torch.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools.
- Make general repairs to the physical structure of the facility when needed.
- Maintain and organize the machine shop and maintenance aisles.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager with vendor orders and inventory tracking.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs, timelines, and equipment operation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred experience:
- Previous experience in equipment repair, maintenance, or a similar role.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience required.
- Ability to read, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems.
- Experience with welding and cutting tools (welder, plasma cutter, torch).
- Strong customer service skills when interacting with customers during service calls, troubleshooting, and training.
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and manage service calls confidently.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
