Customer Service Dispatcher (Part Time)

Regional Transportation Program is a non-profit organization that operates within Cumberland County, Maine, and provides transportation to the public using (mostly) large vans that can be driven with the same driver's license as a sedan. Many of our customers prefer to use our services because we are responsive to the unique needs of some groups such as: those who have disabilities, our senior citizens, and even smaller children who need to get to school safely. Our Customer Service oriented Dispatchers are the first line of contact our customers have to schedule rides, and help organize ride schedules to make sure everyone gets where they need to be on time.

This Part-Time Job:

  • Is Thursday, Friday and Saturday. (Saturday is required.)

Responsibilities:

  • Observe all safety regulations and safety situations
  • Take appointment information from riders
  • Update system information, schedule rides
  • Support and Communicate with drivers over a two-way radio
  • Respond to inbound calls from riders

Qualifications:

  • Polite, courteous, and professional customer service disposition
  • Familiarity with computers, software, and ability to learn new software
  • Experience with dispatch/scheduling software/processes a plus!
  • Strong English language speaking and reading skill, multilingual a plus!
  • Strong skill in multitasking working with shifting priorities
  • Ability to break down larger challenges into smaller, actionable steps
  • Pass a DOT drug test, and background checks
  • Not required, but a plus: experience with social media and digital communications
