Position Summary
The CSR plays a critical role in ensuring smooth communication between customers, carriers, and internal teams, in alignment with the company’s core values—Compassionate Driver, Customer Focus, Creative Thinker, and Growth Mindset—which guide our approach to empathy, service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. This position supports real-time shipment tracking, issue resolution, and proactive customer engagement across NGL’s logistics services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor real-time shipment tracking for ocean cargo, providing proactive updates to clients.
  • Handle booking arrangements with freight forwarders, shippers, and shipping lines.
  • Ensure accurate data entry of receiving and shipping manifests.
  • Comply with customer’s SOPs for handling, storage, and release of goods.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers, carriers, and the internal dispatch team to schedule and optimize drayage and final-mile deliveries.
  • Utilize the Transportation Management System (TMS) to assign loads, monitor driver status, and track delivery progress.
  • Resolve operational issues promptly, such as detention, demurrage, and delivery delays, by coordinating directly with carriers and dispatch.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or transportation customer service preferred
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with TMS, WMS, or CRM systems preferred
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and logistics documentation
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics or business preferred
