Duties
- Customer billing
- · Creating freight bills and manifests
- · Ability to work in a team environment
- · Knowledge of GPS systems and geography
- · Responding to customer requests
- · Negotiating rates with customers
- · Creating routes for deliveries
- · Scheduling pick-up and delivery appointments
- · Maintaining fuel Logs & DOT Compliance
- · Miscellaneous job functions as needed
- · Dispatch experience a definite plus
Experience
- Previous experience in customer service within a transportation or logistics environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating transportation data and contributing to logistics planning efforts.
- Proficiency in data entry with high attention to detail; experience with shipping & receiving documentation is a plus.
- Knowledge of freight operations, dispatching procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL coordination will support success in this role.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering exceptional customer service. Pay: $23.50 - $28.00 per hour
