Customer Service Specialist - I

Provide compassionate, high-quality support to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers by connecting them to essential community resources and services. This role plays a critical part in helping individuals navigate available programs and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support & Helpline Services

  • Answer incoming calls in a fast-paced helpline environment
  • Listen to client needs and provide appropriate resources and referrals
  • Assist with programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, long-term care, and other community services
  • Ensure all interactions are handled with empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality

Resource Coordination & Referrals

  • Connect individuals with local service providers and agencies
  • Assist clients in understanding and accessing available benefits and services
  • Conduct follow-up calls to ensure services were received

Documentation & Data Entry

  • Accurately collect and enter client information into a database system
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of services provided
  • Respond to emails, voicemails, and written inquiries promptly

Community Engagement

  • Collaborate with local organizations and service providers
  • Participate in community outreach events such as health fairs and resource events
  • Stay informed on available programs and community resources

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, call center, social services, or related field
  • Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or community programs is a plus

  • Strong communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to handle high call volumes in a fast-paced environment
  • Compassionate, patient, and service-oriented mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems and data entry

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to complete Information & Referral certification (training provided)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow all regulatory guidelines

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Office and community-based work environment
  • Regular use of phone and computer
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
