Customer Service Specialist, Scheduling

The Customer Service Specialist, Scheduling serves as a central hub for outpatient radiology and diagnostic scheduling and is often the first point of contact for patients. This role plays an important part in ensuring a smooth, accurate, and timely scheduling experience while supporting coordination of care across multiple service areas.

This position works closely with external providers as well as internal providers, technologists, nurses, and other hospital departments to ensure scheduling accuracy and efficient daily operations. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a commitment to excellent customer service are essential for success in this role.

This is a non-patient facing position that is primarily phone and computer based, with limited in person interaction. The workday is fast paced, with high call volume and frequent schedule changes.

Responsibilities include scheduling outpatient radiology and other diagnostic and clinical procedures, maintaining and editing departmental schedules, and obtaining and verifying accurate demographic and insurance information during the pre-registration process. This role also involves reviewing physician orders to ensure they are appropriate and complete prior to scheduling, and communicating regularly with patients, medical staff, and hospital departments.

Call center experience is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate. Cross-training opportunities are available in additional Patient Access areas, and a pay increase is available for employees who complete cross-training.

Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
