Document Preparation and Review:
Prepare and review all necessary import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/air waybills, certificates of origin, insurance documents, and other relevant permits and licenses.
Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with customs regulations of Egypt and any relevant international trade agreements.
Verify the accuracy of product descriptions, quantities, values, and HS codes.
Customs Compliance:
Stay up-to-date on changes in customs laws, regulations, tariffs, and procedures in Egypt.
Ensure adherence to all customs compliance requirements and company policies.
Identify and address potential customs-related issues or discrepancies proactively.
Communication and Coordination:
Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other external parties to facilitate the clearance process.
Communicate effectively with internal departments such as procurement, sales, and finance regarding shipment status and documentation requirements.
Respond to inquiries from customs authorities and resolve any documentation-related issues promptly.
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
Accurately enter data into relevant customs software and internal systems.
Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all import and export documentation.
Prepare regular reports on customs clearance activities and potential issues.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve any delays or complications in the customs clearance process.
Troubleshoot documentation errors and implement corrective actions.
Escalate complex issues to the appropriate personnel.
Process Improvement:
Contribute to the development and improvement of customs clearance procedures and workflows.
Identify opportunities for streamlining documentation processes to enhance efficiency.
Other Duties:
Assist with audits and compliance checks related to customs procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. A relevant diploma or certification with significant experience may be considered.
Experience: [Specify the required years of experience - e.g., 1-3 years, 3-5 years] of experience in customs clearance documentation, import/export operations, or a related field.
Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of Egyptian customs regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements.

Knowledge of international trade terms (Incoterms).
Understanding of relevant software and systems used for customs declarations.
Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Language: Fluency in Arabic and English is often required.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
Certification in customs brokerage or international trade.
Experience working with specific customs software or platforms used in Egypt.
Knowledge of other relevant trade regulations or agreements.
