About the Role
This role involves managing transportation and customs clearance processes to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods.
Responsibilities

Supply Chain and Logistics Coordination

Plan and manage logistics operations, including transportation, and distribution, to meet customer and organizational objectives.

Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless flow of goods across JDL global network.

Transportation Management
-
Arrange and optimize transportation of goods via air, ocean, or Land, selecting reliable and cost-effective carriers.

Track shipments and provide real-time updates to stakeholders using designated system or JDL logistics software and tracking systems.

Customs Clearance Coordination

Manage customs clearance processes for international shipments, ensuring compliance with global import/export regulations.

Prepare and verify customs documentation, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, MAWB, HAWB, and bills of lading.

Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to facilitate efficient clearance and minimize delays.

Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, tariffs, and trade policies to ensure compliance and avoid penalties.

Process Optimization

Analyse logistics data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in transportation routes, and customs processes.

Develop and maintain schedules to meet delivery deadlines and project requirements.

Utilize JDL software and tools (e.g., TMS or CMS) to streamline operations.

Compliance and Documentation

Ensure adherence to local, national, and international shipping and trade regulations, including customs and import/export laws.

Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, costs, and customs-related transactions.

Prepare and manage shipping documentation to support smooth operations and regulatory compliance.

Cost Management
-
Monitor and control logistics budgets, including transportation and customs clearance costs, to optimize efficiency.

Analyse cost structures and recommend strategies to reduce expenses while maintaining service quality.

Customer Service

Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to shipping delays, damaged goods, or customs complications.

Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to ensure client satisfaction and meet delivery expectations.

Risk Management

Identify potential risks in the supply chain, such as customs delays or transportation disruptions, and develop contingency plans.

Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of goods to prevent loss or damage.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with warehouse teams, facility operations, and customs clearance teams specialists to ensure smooth execution of customs clearance and logistics plans.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
