About the Role

Our client is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join their mission-critical team in Dubai. This is a freelance opportunity for elite builders who thrive on protecting digital frontiers and shaping the future of secure enterprise environments. What You’ll Be Doing

• Continuously monitor IT infrastructure, networks, and applications for security threats using advanced SIEM tools.
• Investigate security incidents, analyze root causes, and coordinate rapid incident response to mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with senior cybersecurity professionals to develop and refine incident response procedures.
• Perform in-depth forensic analysis to determine the impact and scope of security incidents.
• Correlate logs and alerts from a suite of cybersecurity tools, including EDR, XDR, SIEM, Email Security, DLP, DDoS, WAF, and Proxy solutions.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses.
• Work closely with IT teams to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security policies.
• Assess third-party vendors for security compliance and recommend robust security controls.
• Stay ahead of emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and best practices to continuously improve defenses.
• Assist in deploying and configuring cybersecurity tools such as firewalls, IDS, endpoint protection, and IAM solutions.
• Support the implementation of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
• Manage access control and identity management, upholding the principle of least privilege.
• Conduct security audits and reviews across applications, cloud environments, and IT infrastructure.
• Gather and analyze threat intelligence to proactively identify potential security risks.
• Develop and fine-tune cybersecurity use cases for SOC/MDR operations.
• Perform malware analysis and reverse engineering to understand threats and recommend countermeasures.
• Collaborate with security engineers to develop automated and AI-driven security monitoring solutions.
• Contribute to security awareness training programs to reduce human-related security risks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, and NIST.
• Document security incidents, remediation efforts, and process improvements to strengthen policies.
• Provide technical reports and actionable recommendations to senior management.
• Champion company values and exercise sound judgment in all decision-making.
• Take on additional duties as required by business needs.

What We’re Looking For

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a Cybersecurity Analyst or similar role.
• Proven expertise with AI-based cybersecurity tools such as Darktrace, Security Copilot, SOAR, Next-gen SIEM, CrowdStrike, AI-based Threat Intel, and Microsoft Security solutions (Defender, Purview DLP, IAM).
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, protocols, and best practices.
• Proficiency in using cybersecurity tools for threat detection, analysis, and mitigation.
• Solid understanding of network architecture, operating systems, and cloud computing platforms.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

Technical Skills

• SIEM, EDR, XDR, SOAR, DLP, WAF, Proxy, IDS/IPS
• AI-based cybersecurity platforms (Darktrace, Security Copilot, CrowdStrike, etc.)
• Microsoft Security Suite (Defender, Purview DLP, IAM)
• Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools
• Forensic analysis and malware reverse engineering
• Cloud security (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Security frameworks: NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls

Language Proficiency

• Professional proficiency in English is required.

Other Requirements

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
