CyberSecurity Engineer

JOB DISCRIPTION FOR A CBER SECURITY ENGINEER

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber security Engineer to assess, enhance, and safeguard our organization’s security posture. This role combines expert advisory services with hands-on security analysis, helping us identify vulnerabilities, implement protective measures, and respond to emerging cyber threats. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and experienced in modern security frameworks and threat landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

Consulting & Advisory

• Assess client or internal environments to identify security risks and compliance gaps.
• Develop and deliver tailored cybersecurity strategies, roadmaps, and improvement plans.
• Advise leadership and technical teams on best-practice security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, etc.).
• Conduct security awareness training and provide guidance on risk mitigation.

Security Analysis

• Monitor, analyze, and triage security events, logs, alerts, and incidents.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Support threat hunting activities and analyze indicators of compromise (IOCs).
• Conduct penetration testing or coordinate with external red-team partners (as applicable).

Incident Response

• Participate in incident detection, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Conduct post-incident analysis and produce detailed reports with recommendations.
• Maintain and improve incident response playbooks and procedures.

Cybersecurity Operations

• Assist with configuring, tuning, and maintaining security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, DLP, etc.).
• Support implementation of identity and access management (IAM) policies and technologies.
• Evaluate and recommend new security solutions and technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field—or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity analysis, consulting, analyst or similar roles.
• Strong understanding of network security, cloud security, and threat landscapes.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar), EDR, WAF , SOAR , UEBA ,n solutions, and vulnerability scanners.
• Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS).
• Familiarity with incident response methodology and forensics basics.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• SOC certification
• Working Knowledge in various Firewalls

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Relevant certifications: Security+, CYSA+, CEH, GSEC, CISSP, CISM, or similar.
• Experience in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with penetration testing techniques and tools.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
• Experience working in consulting environments or MSSP teams.
