Position Overview: ZenPoint Solutions is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced cybersecurity capabilities supporting a high-availability public-facing web platform and its associated infrastructure, including production, backup, and test environments. This role ensures the protection, integrity, and availability of systems by proactively identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats.

The Cybersecurity Engineer plays a critical role in safeguarding cloud and on-premises environments through continuous monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and security engineering. This position works closely with infrastructure, development, and program teams to strengthen the overall security posture while supporting ongoing operations, maintenance, and modernization initiatives.

This position is contingent upon the successful award of a government contract and subsequent government approval.

Requirements:

• Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity tools, systems, and processes across cloud and infrastructure environments
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and continuous monitoring to detect and respond to potential security incidents
• Lead and support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery
• Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify and remediate risks
• Analyze complex cyber threats, attack vectors, and system vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigation strategies
• Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures
• Monitor and manage security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners
• Collaborate with cloud and system administrators to ensure secure configurations and compliance with best practices
• Support implementation of identity and access management controls and data protection measures
• Contribute to disaster recovery and continuity of operations planning from a cybersecurity perspective
• Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents, processes, and system configurations
• Provide regular reporting and briefings on security posture, risks, and incidents to stakeholders
• Support the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness and training programs
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity technologies

Required Qualifications:

• Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected
• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, engineering, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience with threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management
• Experience conducting security assessments, audits, or penetration testing
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices
• Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanning tools
• Experience securing cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and web-based applications
• Understanding of network security, system hardening, and secure configuration practices
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident handling skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Security+, GIAC)
• Experience supporting high-availability or public-facing web platforms
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA)
• Experience with cloud security tools and services (e.g., AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center)
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with log analysis, threat intelligence platforms, and security automation
• Background in scripting or programming (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for security automation
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
