Job Summary:
The Site Lead / Senior Cybersecurity Engineer serves as both the senior technical authority and hands-on engineering lead supporting cybersecurity, systems engineering, and cyber operations within a Department of Defense mission environment. In this dual-role position, the individual provides overall program leadership, manages team performance, and serves as the primary interface with Government stakeholders, while also actively contributing to cybersecurity engineering, system analysis, and technical solution development. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership and deep technical expertise to guide mission execution, support system modernization, and ensure delivery of high-impact cybersecurity capabilities in a secure, mission-focused environment. Position supports a long-term Support Services effort. Employment is contingent upon contract award.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Provides oversight of contractor personnel supporting the program

Assigns tasks, sets priorities, and monitors team performance

Supports staffing, workforce planning, and personnel management activities

Mentors and develops cybersecurity engineering staff

Ensures continuity of operations and supports personnel transition planning
Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Serves as the primary interface with Government stakeholders
-
Leads execution of cybersecurity and engineering support activities
-
Provides technical leadership across cybersecurity engineering, system integration, and cyber operations

Performs hands-on engineering, analysis, and problem-solving as required
-
Supports system architecture, integration, testing, and sustainment efforts
-
Guides incident response, vulnerability management, and threat analysis activities
-
Oversees project planning, scheduling, risk management, and deliverable execution
-
Supports process improvement and transition planning initiatives
-
Ensures adherence to DoD policies, cybersecurity standards, and best practices
-
Collaborates across multi-disciplinary teams to support mission objectives
-
Contributes to modernization efforts using Agile, DevSecOps, or similar methodologies
Required Experience and Certifications (Mandatory):
-
U.S. Citizen
-
Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
-
Active CISSP (or equivalent cybersecurity certification)
-
Minimum 5+ years of experience leading cybersecurity teams in a DoD environment

Demonstrated experience with:
-
Incident response
-
Vulnerability management
-
Threat analysis
-
Teams of 10 or more personnel
-
Large, complex programs or efforts
-
Extensive experience in cybersecurity engineering, systems engineering, or cyber operations
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting federal law enforcement, cyber operations, or national security missions

Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, or CI/CD environments
-
Knowledge of DoD system engineering lifecycle processes

Additional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEH, Security+, cloud security certifications)

Experience working in classified or highly controlled environments
Security Requirements (Mandatory):

U.S. Citizen

Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance required at time of application

Ability to maintain required clearance throughout employment
-
Must meet all Government security verification requirements

Must comply with all National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and DD Form 254 requirements prior to performing work

Contractor personnel must demonstrate professional integrity, trustworthiness, and adherence to security protocols

Education Requirements (Mandatory):

Master’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field OR

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of relevant cybersecurity experience
Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Ability to operate standard office and IT equipment

May occasionally need to move equipment or materials up to 25 pounds

Ability to participate in technical discussions and reviews

On-site work in a secure Government facility in the Northern Virginia area
