- Design, implement, and manage network security solutions including firewalls (Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS systems, VPNs, and SIEM tools like Splunk or SolarWinds to monitor threat detection & response.
- Conduct vulnerability research, vulnerability assessments, and system hardening procedures aligned with ISO 27000 and NIST standards to identify and mitigate risks proactively.
- Administer and support IT infrastructure components such as LAN/WAN networks, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), Cisco ISE for identity & access management, and network protocols to ensure robust network architecture.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive system security plans (SSPs), disaster recovery plans, and incident management procedures to ensure rapid incident recovery and business continuity.
- Perform incident response activities including log analysis with tools like New Relic or Fiddler, threat intelligence gathering, and forensic investigations using computer forensics techniques.
- Manage cloud infrastructure security on platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Platform by applying cloud architecture best practices, implementing encryption standards (FIPS), and ensuring compliance with FISMA/FedRAMP requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies for secure software deployment (CI/CD pipelines), system administration tasks on Linux/Unix systems (Ubuntu, CentOS), and automation with Ansible or Terraform.
- work directly under the supervision on CFO and CEO and manage clients' projects and assignments.
Experience
- Proven experience in cybersecurity roles involving network engineering, system security administration, or threat detection & response within complex IT environments.
- Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP stack, DHCP, DNS, IPsec VPNs, load balancing (F5 or similar), high availability architectures, and network support practices.
- Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM platforms (Splunk), IDS/IPS systems (Snort), firewall management (Cisco ASA), and network monitoring solutions like SolarWinds or PRTG.
- Familiarity with open-source operating systems including Linux distributions (Debian, CentOS) and BSD variants; knowledge of Windows/macOS environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 27000 series, NIST frameworks, PCI DSS for payment card security, COBIT governance framework, and DIACAP/FISMA compliance requirements.
- Ability to perform vulnerability research & assessment using attack frameworks; experience in incident management processes aligned with ITIL practices.
- Educational background in computer science or related fields; certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CEH or Cisco CCNP Security are highly desirable.
