About the Role
We are seeking a rare hybrid professional, a D365 F&O Technical Expert & BI Developer to lead both the customization of our ERP environment and the evolution of our enterprise analytics. This is a "full-stack" technical role: you will be responsible for modifying the core behavior of D365 F&O through X++ development and ensuring that data flows seamlessly into a high-performance Azure Analysis Services (AAS) and Power BI ecosystem.
What You Will Do
- D365 X++ Customization: Act as the lead developer for system enhancements and Change Requests (CRs). This includes writing X++ code, creating extensions (Chain of Command), developing new forms, and modifying business logic across Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations modules.
- Data Engineering & Exposure: Identify, create, and extend Data Entities and Aggregate Measurements. You will ensure that any new business logic or custom fields created in X++ are properly architected to be exposed for downstream reporting.
- SQL Data Architecture: Ownership of the reporting database layer. You will write advanced T-SQL queries, design optimized Views, and manage Primary/Foreign Keys to transform normalized ERP tables into a performant Star Schema.
- Semantic Modeling (AAS): Architect and maintain enterprise tabular models in Azure Analysis Services (AAS). This involves defining relationships, managing partitions, and developing complex DAX measures for business KPIs.
- Enterprise Reporting: Develop interactive Power BI dashboards for real-time data exploration.
- Author Paginated Reports (RDL) for pixel-perfect, high-volume documents like Invoices, Statements, and Regulatory filings.
Required Qualification
- X++ Mastery: 5+ years of hands-on experience in D365 F&O technical development. Deep expertise in AOT, Extensions, Event Handlers, and the SysOperation/Batch frameworks.
- SQL Expert: Mastery of T-SQL with a focus on data warehousing, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and complex joins across ERP schemas.
- BI Architecture: Proven experience building and deploying Azure Analysis Services (AAS) models and writing advanced DAX.
- Reporting Tools: Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Builder.
- Techno-Functional Insight: Ability to translate a business requirement into a technical X++ change and subsequently into a BI data point.

- Performance Tuning: Experience using Trace Parser or SQL Execution Plans to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in both the ERP and the BI layer.
