Function
Provide one-on-one Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), patient education in individual and group sessions, and develop evidence–based educational material for patients and the public.
Responsibilities

Assess patients’ nutritional needs, develop, and implement therapeutic diets, evaluate and report results.

Confer with physicians and other health care providers to coordinate the medical and nutritional needs of patients.

Counsel individuals, groups, family members and caretakers on nutritional practices designed to prevent disease and promote good health.

Run a nutrition clinic 5 days a week.
-
Run nutrition clinics in the evening hours as needed.

Conduct 24 hour recalls for all patients and enter them into Nutritics on baseline and/or frequently as needed with once a year follow up as minimum.

Plan and implement education sessions on a variety of topics.

Deliver nutrition lectures and workshops for healthcare providers (physicians, dietitians, and nurses) and students.

Plan and develop evidence-based nutrition educational materials and promotion materials.

Assist in supervising cooking classes when required.

Assist in research activities and recruitment for research studies, including proposal writing, data collection, analysis, and report writing.

Assist in developing and implementing departmental projects or services and carrying out departmental duties as assigned and agreed upon.

Assist in developing innovative and creative intervention nutrition programs.

Take part in outreach and in-house activities.

Take part in media activities including TV, Radio, social media, Newspaper etc.....

Present at conferences and/or workshops and submit for publication articles and papers, whenever possible.

Adhere to all Dasman Diabetes Institute related policies, standards, procedures and safety measures.

Any other duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Head of Unit.
Required Skills and Expertise:

1-3 years of related experience in similar organization

Competent in applying MNT
-
Good communication skills in both Arabic and English (reading, writing, speaking)

Knowledge of behavioral modification theories is desirable
-
Capable of developing educational material
-
Current membership of professional associations for nutrition is desirable
Other Comments:
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or higher
