Overview
As a Daily Living Skills Trainer, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with disabilities develop essential life skills to foster independence and confidence. Your energetic and compassionate approach will inspire positive growth and meaningful progress in those you support.

Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments to identify the specific needs and goals of each individual.

Develop personalized daily living skills training plans based on assessment findings and individual goals.

Provide one-on-one or group training sessions to teach and reinforce skills related to activities of daily living, including but not limited to:

Personal hygiene and grooming

Meal planning and preparation

Grocery shopping and budgeting

Household chores and organization

Time management and scheduling

Money management and basic financial literacy

Community navigation and transportation skills

Adapt training techniques and materials to accommodate the unique learning styles and abilities of each individual.

Monitor progress and make adjustments to training plans as needed to ensure continued growth and skill development.

Collaborate with other members of the support team, including case managers, therapists, and family members, to coordinate services and promote holistic care.

Document individual progress, training activities, and any relevant observations or concerns in a clear and timely manner.

Provide emotional support and encouragement to individuals as they work towards achieving their goals.

Stay up-to-date on best practices and trends in the field of disability support services, and incorporate new knowledge and techniques into daily living skills training programs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field such as social work, psychology, special education, or rehabilitation counseling preferred.

Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or other special needs preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with diverse populations.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others achieve their full potential.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and client needs.

Understanding of and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and privacy.

CPR and First Aid certification may be required, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.

Valid driver's license and reliable insured transportation, with the ability to transport clients as needed.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
