Duties

• Develop and implement innovative dance curricula tailored to various age groups and skill levels, including ballet, theater dance, and contemporary styles
• Lead engaging dance classes that motivate students to improve technique, coordination, and performance skills
• Choreograph routines for performances, recitals, and community events that showcase students’ talents
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners
• Provide personalized tutoring and feedback to help students progress in their dancing abilities
• Incorporate elements of photography or video recording to document student progress and performances
• Collaborate with other instructors on special projects such as theater productions or dance workshops

Skills

• Strong background in dance styles such as ballet, theater dance, or contemporary movement with experience in choreography
• Proven teaching ability across diverse age groups including early childhood education, preschoolers, children with special needs, and adult learners
• Excellent classroom management skills to foster a positive learning atmosphere
• Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to different skill levels and educational needs
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
• Ability to work effectively with children and students with varying abilities in a supportive manner
• Familiarity with photography or videography to capture performances or student progress
• Basic sewing or costume-making skills beneficial for costume design or modifications
• Experience in theater production or stage performance is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $29.56 per hour

Work Location: In person
