Duties
- Develop and implement innovative dance curricula tailored to various age groups and skill levels, including ballet, theater dance, and contemporary styles
- Lead engaging dance classes that motivate students to improve technique, coordination, and performance skills
- Choreograph routines for performances, recitals, and community events that showcase students’ talents
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners
- Provide personalized tutoring and feedback to help students progress in their dancing abilities
- Incorporate elements of photography or video recording to document student progress and performances
- Collaborate with other instructors on special projects such as theater productions or dance workshops
Skills
- Strong background in dance styles such as ballet, theater dance, or contemporary movement with experience in choreography
- Proven teaching ability across diverse age groups including early childhood education, preschoolers, children with special needs, and adult learners
- Excellent classroom management skills to foster a positive learning atmosphere
- Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to different skill levels and educational needs
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
- Ability to work effectively with children and students with varying abilities in a supportive manner
- Familiarity with photography or videography to capture performances or student progress
- Basic sewing or costume-making skills beneficial for costume design or modifications
- Experience in theater production or stage performance is a plus
