Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Dance Instructor to inspire students of all ages to discover the joy of movement and self-expression through dance. In this role, you will lead engaging dance classes, develop creative curricula, and foster a positive learning environment that encourages growth, confidence, and artistic development. Whether working with children, teens, or adults, your enthusiasm and expertise will help students unlock their potential and cultivate a lifelong love for dance.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement dynamic dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, including ballet, jazz, and other styles.
- Lead engaging group and individual dance classes that motivate students to improve technique, coordination, and performance skills.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners.
- Provide constructive feedback and personalized coaching to help students progress in their dance journey.
- Organize performances or showcases that allow students to demonstrate their skills and celebrate their achievements.
- Incorporate elements of choreography, musicality, and stage presence into lesson plans to enhance artistic expression.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, or adult learners to track progress and set achievable goals for each student.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of various dance styles such as ballet, theater dance, and contemporary movement.
- Strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to diverse age groups.
- Proven experience in teaching or tutoring students of different skill levels, including early childhood education and adult education.
- Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Ability to work effectively with children, teens, or adults while fostering creativity and confidence.
- Familiarity with childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
- Skills in photography or video recording for documenting performances or progress (nice-to-have).
- Experience in theatrical production or stage performance (preferred).
- Knowledge of sewing or costume design can be an added advantage for costume-related projects.
