We are seeking a passionate and energetic Dance Instructor to inspire students of all ages and skill levels through the art of dance. Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, incorporating various styles such as ballet, theater dance, and contemporary movement
- Lead engaging, energetic dance classes that motivate students and promote active participation
- Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring safety, discipline, and positive behavior management
- Provide personalized tutoring and feedback to support individual student progress
- Adapt teaching methods for students with special needs or early childhood education requirements
- Incorporate creative elements like photography or sewing projects related to dance costumes or stage design when appropriate
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, or other educators to track student development and set achievable goals
Experience
- Proven classroom experience teaching dance or movement classes to diverse age groups, including preschoolers and adults
- Strong background in choreography, lesson planning, and curriculum development across multiple dance styles such as ballet and theater dance
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, demonstrating effective behavior management techniques
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Familiarity with classroom management strategies to foster a respectful and inclusive environment
- Additional skills in culinary arts, sewing, or photography are a plus for creating engaging visual projects related to dance performances or costumes
- Prior experience in special education or working with students with unique learning needs is advantageous
