Dance Instructor and Choreographer

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, incorporating various styles such as ballet, theater dance, and contemporary movement
  • Lead engaging dance classes that motivate students to improve technique, coordination, and performance skills
  • Create original choreography for performances, recitals, and special events that showcase students’ talents and progress
  • Manage classroom dynamics effectively by implementing behavior management strategies and maintaining a positive atmosphere
  • Provide personalized tutoring and feedback to students to support their individual development in dancing and performance
  • Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning and curriculum development to ensure cohesive program delivery
  • Incorporate elements of theater arts, photography, sewing, or culinary arts into creative projects when appropriate to enrich the learning experience
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities and maintain a clean, organized studio environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience in teaching dance or choreography across diverse age groups, including early childhood education or preschool experience
  • Strong knowledge of ballet techniques along with other dance styles such as theater dance or contemporary dance
  • Skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management
  • Experience working with children or students with special educational needs; familiarity with childhood development principles is a plus
  • Ability to engage students through motivating instruction while fostering confidence and creativity
  • Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Additional skills such as photography, sewing, cooking, or experience in theater arts are considered valuable assets
  • Prior classroom experience in educational settings or arts programs is preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $27.71 per hour
