Dancing with RKDC (Regina Klenjoski Dance Company) is a 501c(3) non-profit in Torrance, CA. For over 25 years, our dance program has offered dance classes to children ages 3 - 17. All of our classes take place at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center, Monday - Saturday. Our schedule consists of over 35 classes in ballet, hip hop, contemporary, jazz and more.

The Position

We are hiring 1 Hip Hop Teacher for 3 classes on Monday evenings 4pm - 7:30pm. beginning January, 2026. DO NOT APPLY if you are not a hip hop teacher and cannot be available Monday evenings.

The ideal candidate for this role is:

• Highly educated in Hip Hop dance fundamentals, culture, and history
• Reliable transportation
• Passionate about working with young children and pre-teen/teens
• Highly Responsive & Communicative (email, text)
• Ability to meet hard deadlines, be organized and efficient
• Excellent Planning & Time Management Skills
• Experience working with children between the ages of 6 - 17 years old
• Experience working with performance groups/dance teams is a plus
• B.A./B.F.A. in dance or related is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Create & teach fun, engaging dance classes that are developmentally appropriate including well thought out lesson plans, choreography, and recital prep.
• Arrive to all classes promptly and maintain a high level of professionalism.
• Attend all staff meetings (6 per year, usually virtual).
• Attend all scheduled recital rehearsals and performances (all in-person).
• Manage Costuming and cut music for your classes (recital seasons only).
• Interact with families regarding their child's class (recital details, child's progress, etc).
• Meet deadlines for recital related duties.

Requirements: All teachers must undergo a background check (the cost is around $50). This cost is the contractor's responsibility.

Position Start Date: January 2026

Classes:

Monday afternoons (3 classes beginning at 4pm)

Pay: All teachers are hired as independent contractors. The rate is$27- 32 per class, depending on experience and education/training. Our instructors also receive additional pay during show season and staff meetings.
