Dance Teacher

Overview:

We are searching for a dance teacher for Take The Leap Dance Studio. We are looking specifically looking for a teacher who specializes in Tap or Ballet (or both!).

We are looking for someone with teaching experience who is excited to join a team of instructors at TLDS. Our Dance teacher will be responsible for creating a fun, supportive, and engaging learning environment that fosters creativity and self-expression.

We are looking for someone to teach a minimum of 2 hours a week. Training would be paid and begin as soon as January, 2026. There are two performances a year (December and June). There is room to grow in other styles and more hours in the future.

Duties:

- Develop and implement engaging and challenging dance lessons that cater to students of all skill levels and ages.
- Plan and prepare lesson plans that align with our current student capabilities while finding new ways to challenge and excite our dancers.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and respectful environment for all students.
- Provide individualized feedback and support to students to help them improve their technique and build their confidence.
- Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student growth and development.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive approach to dance education.
- Participate in performances, and may be required to assist with event coordination.

Qualifications:

- Experience teaching dance to children (recommended)
- Experience with special education or adult education is a plus.
- Excellent behavior management skills.
- Experience with lesson planning.
- A background in childcare is desirable.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- A passion for dance and a commitment to sharing that passion with students.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
