Dark Web/OSINT Forensic Consultant

Job Description / About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Dark Web/OSINT Forensic Expert – Consultant to investigate, analyze, and extract actionable intelligence from the dark web, deep web, and related open-source platforms. The role involves digital evidence collection, forensic analysis, cryptocurrency tracking, and monitoring dark web activities for cybersecurity purposes.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the distinctions between surface web, deep web, and dark web, including access methods
• Utilize tools such as Tor and anonymizing services for dark web investigations
• Apply encryption knowledge for secure communication and data storage analysis
• Conduct digital forensic evidence collection, preservation, and analysis from computers and devices
• Track network traffic and identify suspicious activities related to dark web involvement
• Gather and analyze open-source intelligence (OSINT) linked to dark web activities
• Investigate cryptocurrency transactions and trace illicit payments
• Use specialized tools for dark web searches, data extraction, and anonymized communications
• Examine collected evidence to identify perpetrators and understand criminal operations
• Maintain proper forensic documentation and follow standard evidence-handling procedures
• Utilize digital forensic techniques and standard computer forensic tools effectively

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in dark web investigations, data leak monitoring, negotiation, and OSINT
• Hands-on experience with dark web and deep web technologies
• Strong understanding of digital forensics, cybersecurity, and investigative techniques
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency tracking and analysis
• B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA / MBA / PG from a recognized university/institution
• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics & Telecommunication, or related fields
• Industry certifications such as GCFA, CHFI, CEH, GREM, CISSP, GCFE, GNFA, OSCP, OSEE, OSCE, CREST, or equivalent preferred
• Strong analytical, investigative, and reporting skills
