Principal / Director – Data & AI (Telco)

About the Role

Our client, a global consulting house, is seeking an experienced Principal / Director to lead Data & AI Execution within the telecommunications sector. This role sits within the firm’s Data & Analytics practice and will focus on designing and implementing large-scale data transformation programs for leading telecom operators and digital infrastructure players across the region.

The ideal candidate brings both strategy consulting expertise and hands-on experience driving execution in telco data platforms, customer analytics, network intelligence, and AI-enabled operational optimization .


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end Data & AI transformation programs for telecom and digital services clients—from strategy design through program execution.
  • Advise C-level stakeholders on data platform modernization, AI adoption, customer value management, network automation, and data monetization models.
  • Develop and operationalize data operating models , enterprise data governance frameworks, and AI deployment roadmaps tailored to telco environments.
  • Oversee delivery teams working across customer analytics, network analytics, digital channels, marketing technologies, and cloud data platforms .
  • Drive measurable outcomes such as revenue uplift, churn reduction, ARPU growth, network cost optimization, and improved customer experience .
  • Lead proposal development, account expansion, and pipeline growth within key telco accounts.
  • Collaborate with global telecom, AI, and cloud centers of excellence to bring leading practices and accelerators to client engagements.


Required Experience

  • Consulting experience focused on telecom sector Data & AI programs (strategy + delivery).
  • Proven ability to translate high-level strategy into execution roadmaps and implementation governance .
  • Hands-on advisory experience across:
  • Customer & marketing analytics (CVM, churn, segmentation)
  • Network intelligence / predictive maintenance
  • Data platform modernization / cloud migration
  • AI/ML model deployment and scaling in production
  • Strong commercial acumen: proposal shaping, client relationship development, and revenue management.
  • Demonstrated leadership managing multi-disciplinary teams and scaling delivery capability.


Qualifications

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially with senior leadership.
