Providence Insurance Company I.I. is seeking a Data Analyst to join our team and support the company’s reporting and data management initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and insight in the way we analyze and communicate performance across the organization. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating large datasets and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
What You’ll Do:
In this role, you will play a key part in driving operational accuracy and supporting the company’s data management integrity.
- Execute recurring reporting projects, including loss ratios, reinsurance reporting, and reserve analysis.
- Perform recurring data analyses such as eligibility data comparisons and quality control reporting.
- Ensure monthly claims data from Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) is received and validated.
- Develop enhanced reporting on PBM performance and Rx benefit utilization.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from management.
- Extract, consolidate, and present data from our claims analytics platform.
- Document processes to ensure replicability and accuracy of reporting.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams on projects and continuous process improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
Candidates should possess a strong background in data analysis with experience in the following areas:
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs advanced formulas, and multi-source data consolidation.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to structure and execute complex projects.
- Ability to summarize and present large amounts of data in an organized and accessible format.
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
- Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects with a high sense of urgency.
- Strong communication skills in English (oral and written).
- 3 - 5 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or data analysis.
- Experience in insurance, healthcare, or related industries is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of medical and Rx claims or health insurance plan design.
- Experience in actuarial services or insurance claims services.
- Familiarity with databases and advanced reporting tools.
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is preferred.
- Interest in applying advanced reporting analytics (such as AI tools) to enhance reporting projects is a plus.
