The Department of Data Analytics at CMS plays a pivotal role in transforming raw institutional data into meaningful insights to guide academic, administrative, and operational decision-making across over 20 campuses.

Position Overview

The Data Analyst will support CMS’s mission of using data as a strategic asset. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data from multiple systems — including ERPNext, HRMS, Academic Portals, Finance modules and other — to generate actionable insights for management, leadership, and departments across the organization.

The ideal candidate is passionate about data accuracy, visualization, and storytelling, and is skilled in tools like Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or Python.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and validate
• Ensure data consistency, completeness, and accuracy across multiple
• Work with IT and ERP teams to improve data capture and automate reporting
• Maintain data dictionaries and documentation for all analytical

• Perform detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify trends, patterns, and

• Design clear and impactful dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or Excel (Power Query, Pivot, DAX).

Skills s Competencies Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Excel (Advanced Functions, Pivot Tables, Power Query)
• Hands-on experience with Power BI / Tableau / Google Looker Studio
• Intermediate SQL skills for data extraction and transformation
• Familiarity with Python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, plotly)

Knowledge of data quality, validation, and cleansing techniques Analytical s Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field
• 1–3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, MIS Analyst, or Business Analyst
• Certification in Data Analytics / Power BI / Excel / SQL / Python is an advantage
