Position Overview:
The Data Analyst will be responsible for gathering data from multiple sources (both internal and external), analyzing the data by searching for relationships in the data, and interpreting data to support executable business strategies and decisions for the company and our clients and all while driving efficiency. This position will work closely with SimPL's top management and have high-level exposure to client management and decision makers.

Besides maintaining and improving regular and on-going reports, processes, data, and models, the Data Analyst will be exposed to a wide range of projects that will require independent judgement while developing solutions that solve significant client issues.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Clean and validate incoming client and prospect data for consistency and accuracy
  • Update and monitor dashboards in Power BI, Salesforce, and Excel for key performance indicators
  • Respond to internal requests for quick data pulls, ad hoc analysis, or freight insights.
  • Communicate task progress, blockers, and priorities with relevant stakeholders
  • Track and resolve data integrity issues flagged by internal systems or client teams
  • Maintain awareness of current client pricing, routing guides, and system data
  • Evaluate the use of AI systems to improve data collection and analysis

Weekly Responsibilities

  • Analyze new prospect freight data and prepare visuals/tables for sales presentations
  • Build or update Excel models to support active pricing projects or decision-making scenarios
  • Collaborate with operations and pricing teams to evaluate carrier proposals or rate strategies
  • Meet with the technology team and stakeholders to discuss ongoing data process improvements
  • Re-prioritize tasks based on shifting client or organizational needs
  • Document and standardize recurring data cleaning or analysis processes

Monthly Responsibilities

  • Conduct deeper analyses of client freight patterns to identify cost reduction or routing opportunities
  • Deliver presentations or reports for internal or client strategy reviews
  • Review and refine dashboards and reporting templates based on stakeholder feedback
  • Audit current data sources and reporting tools to ensure consistency and accuracy across platforms
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align data efforts with SimPL's goals
  • Proactively identify and scope out automation or efficiency projects for data workflows

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Mathematics, or other related analytical or quantitative related fields required
  • 2-6 years minimum experience in supply chain analytics and logistics, inventory or procurement analytics or related experience
  • One (1) year minimum project management experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and PowerBI preferred
  • Familiar with modeling
  • Excellent detailed organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent data analysis, critical thinking and decision making
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of clients and management
