Data Analyst
The Data Analyst is responsible for the organization, analysis, and reporting of data collected from various sources, utilizing various visualization and business intelligence tools to provide a clear understanding and communication of data to the Association in making sound decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Produce weekly market reports.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
- Other special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
- Technical expertiseregarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, databases, programming
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
- Strong analytical skillswith the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
- BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics preferred, or are working towards a degree in one of these areas.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work hours as noted in the Policy Manual, with the exception occasional evening and weekend activities. Travel out of town once or twice annually for two to four days. In addition:
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
- Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate
- Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
