Data Analyst – Banking Domain

Role Summary

The Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing banking and financial data to generate actionable insights, support business decision-making, and ensure high data quality. The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in SQL, expertise in data visualization and BI tools, and a solid understanding of banking domain metrics, processes, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform data analysis on large banking datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business insights
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data from relational databases and data warehouses
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI and data visualization tools
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency through validation checks, reconciliations, and issue resolution
• Monitor key banking KPIs such as customer metrics, transactions, risk indicators, profitability, and operational performance
• Support regulatory, compliance, and audit-related data requirements where applicable
• Document data definitions, business rules, and reporting logic for transparency and reuse

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience in Data Analysis and problem-solving
• Advanced proficiency in SQL (complex joins, subqueries, performance tuning)
• Hands-on experience with Data Visualization and BI Tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar)
• Solid understanding of Data Quality concepts including data validation, reconciliation, and exception handling
• Good knowledge of the Banking Domain (retail banking, corporate banking, risk, finance, payments, or compliance)
• Experience working with structured datasets from RDBMS or data warehouses
• Ability to clearly communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
