Job Overview:
The Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, validating, and reporting operational, financial, billing, and productivity data across MMARS’ Community First Choice (CFC) and Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) programs.
This position serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Program Managers, Senior Supervisors, and Financial Department by developing reports, dashboards, forecasting models, and data analyses that support organizational decision-making, productivity management, revenue optimization, compliance monitoring, and financial planning.
The Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of LTSS reporting, claims data, reimbursement tracking, and operational metrics while providing actionable insights that support organizational growth and performance.
Duties:
Reporting
- Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring operational, financial, productivity, and management reports.
- Design and maintain reporting tools that provide visibility into program performance, staffing utilization, productivity, compliance, and reimbursement trends.
- Analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of organizational reporting data.
LTSS, Claims & Revenue Analysis
- Monitor and analyze LTSS documentation, billing, and claims activity across all programs.
- Produce reports including but not limited to identifying claims submitted, claims paid, claims denied, claims rejected, and outstanding receivables.
- Investigate billing trends and identify root causes of denied or rejected claims.
- Partner with Program Managers and Senior Supervisors to address documentation and billing issues impacting reimbursement.
- Provide detailed analyses related to participant services, billable units, productivity, and revenue generation.
- Support organizational efforts to maximize Medicaid reimbursement and improve claims resolution.
Operational Performance & Productivity Analytics
- Assist in developing productivity reports that measure performance at the individual, team, program, and organizational levels.
- Analyze billable unit production, caseload trends, staffing levels, and operational efficiency metrics.
- Assist leadership with producing insights regarding workforce utilization, productivity trends, and performance opportunities.
- Identify patterns and trends that may impact compliance, service delivery, financial performance, or staffing needs.
- Assist leadership with data-driven workforce planning and operational forecasting.
Financial Reporting & Forecasting Support
- Collaborate closely with the Financial Department to support accounts receivable tracking, revenue forecasting, and cash flow projections.
- Develop forecasting models related to reimbursement, productivity, and organizational growth.
- Support budgeting and financial planning activities through data analysis and reporting.
- Provide financial and operational trend analyses to assist leadership in strategic planning initiatives.
Data Quality and Compliance
- Perform routine audits and validation of reports to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Monitor data integrity across LTSS, Paylocity, and other organizational databases as needed.
- Proactively identify and escalate reporting discrepancies, coordinate resolution efforts with appropriate departments, and monitor corrective actions through completion.
- Ensure reporting practices align with Medicaid, Maryland Department of Health (MDH), contractual, and organizational requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all protected health information (PHI) and organizational data.
Strategic Support
- Serve as a reporting and analytics resource for the COO, Program Managers, Senior Supervisors, and Financial Department.
- Present findings, trends, and recommendations to leadership in a clear and understandable manner.
- Provide data analysis and reporting support for special projects requested by the leadership team to support operational efficiency, compliance, productivity, and financial performance.
- Recommend opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced reporting capabilities.
Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate findings effectively.
- Strong understanding of operational reporting, and performance metrics.
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with healthcare, Medicaid-funded services, or human services programs preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of LTSS Maryland, Medicaid billing, and claims reporting.
Education & Eligibility Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2-5 years of experience in reporting, analytics, healthcare operations, or related field.
- Experience working with Medicaid-funded programs, healthcare organizations, or government-contracted services strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop forecasting models and performance dashboards.
- Advanced Excel proficiency required.
- Proven track record supporting organizational growth.
Travel / Work Location:
- Hybrid/Remote work environment with required presence at the main office as needed.
- Must be available for some travel that may be required for audits, or offsite meetings.
- Must maintain a home office in compliance with MMARS HIPAA and Home Office requirements.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Pay: $68,400.00 - $77,175.00 per year
